Award winning COSMOS and ROSE
Carrying out scientific research involving rare gynaecological cancer is challenging.
With the aim of starting to solve this problem, Dr Mariela Vasileva-Slaveva and Assoc. Prof. Angel Yordanov, GYNOCARE MC Members from Bulgaria, united to create the first virtual biobank for tumor tissues based in Bulgaria. This is the COSMOS project. This is an innovative program combining clinical data and tumor samples from different institutions across the country.

This is linked to another innovative project ROSE, created by Dr Mariela Vasileva-Slaveva and Dr Assia Konsoulova. ROSE was awarded the Think Pink Europe Innovation Award (€ 5,000) in March 2020. The project ROSE is an online platform connecting patients involved in breast cancer biobank, doctors and researchers in a common aim to increase cancer survival.
